Pilates is a system based on strengthening of joints, abdomen and back muscles. The most important benefits of Pilates are to strengthen the whole body by stretching, to gain the habit of healthier and correct posture. Strengthened and flexible muscles support the body as a corset. This support frees the extra weight from the back and the spine, resulting in less risk of injury. Only the weight of the body is utilized in the basic moves of Pilates, extra tools are not needed.
The world famous dancers of Royal balet , Martha Graham and Balanchine and many sport clubs practice Pilates exercises since many years.
